If I had a street, I would call it something like Road Street, or Street Avenue.

Better yet, if I had two streets and a house, my house would be at the intersection of Road Street and Street Avenue.

If people asked me where I lived, I would just say “Road,” and if they asked me which road, I would say “Street,” and if they asked again, “Avenue.”

I would marry a young Gregory House so our house could be the House House.

This would all be on my island, Road Island. The island would basically have these two roads and my house and nothing else.

I don’t know where I was going with this other than Hugh Laurie is still my celebrity crush, but road, street, and house don’t even look like words anymore, so I should stop.

Diana showed me a picture of a guy whose name was labelled as Chen-Chen, which she found hilarious.

This reminded me of pens from UPenn (Penn pens), and we laughed about a guy called Chen-Chen with a Penn pen.

I googled a bit, and there actually IS someone called Chen Chen studying at UPenn. There’s even another guy called Chen Chen at Penn State. Chen Chens’ Penns pens…

Not to mention I then found the Linkedin profile of a random woman called Pen-Pen Chen. However, I don’t think she studied at any Penn, which is a pity. She could have had Pen-Pen Chen’s Penn pens.

I’m reading Fast Food Nation for our lit non-fiction unit. The book is basically about how the fast food industry is ruining America (unhealthy, oppresses farmers and laborers, uses manufactured flavoring, exploits people through advertising, etc.)

Based on the review excerpts on the back of the book, I was prepared to be shocked by some terrible, dark McSecrets. However, so far what I’ve read has mostly just made me admire the fast food dudes as geniuses. They’re just really good at what they’re doing and it’s not their fault it works so well.

Did you know they cut french fries by shooting potatoes out of a high speed hose through a grid of steel blades?
